European Bullhead
The European Bullhead is a freshwater fish that is distributed all over Europe, except for the southern peninsula and northern Scandinavia. It is found mainly in rivers. The European Bullhead is also known as the miller's thumb, freshwater sculpin, common bullhead, and cob. Food items eaten by the European Bullhead include benthic insects, crustaceans and other invertebrates. It breeds in the spring, during which the male digs a shallow hole in which batches of eggs are deposited by several females. He then guards the nest for around a month so that the eggs can hatch.
