Mirror Carp
Mirror Carp, regionally known as Israeli carp, are a type of fish commonly found in Europe. Their name originates from the reflective quality of their scales. They can grow in excess of 60 lb (27 kg), with the last few British record fish all being Mirror Carp. A population of Mirror Carp in Madagascar was found to have reverted to full scale 'mirror' cover after being introduced from France in the early twentieth century. The feral Carp still possessed large scales due to their mirror phenotype, but had increased scale coverage approaching that of wild-type Carp.
