Pumpkinseed
The Pumpkinseed, also referred to as the Pond Perch, is a small fish with a body shaped like a pumpkin seed. It is typically about 4 in (10 cm) in length, but can grow up to 11 in (28 cm). They typically weigh less than 1 lb (450 g). Pumpkinseeds are very similar to the larger Bluegill, and are often found in the same habitat. Pumpkinseeds are carnivorous and feed on a variety of small prey, including insects, small molluscs and small crawfish, as well as cannibalizing smaller Pumpkinseeds.
